With deception running a muck, even the most vigilant person can find themselves ensnared by this elusive craft. How can you tell whether or not you have fallen under deception? Those who are under deception live a self serving life. Such individuals discounts scripture as irrelevant or allegorical. These are dangerous times to live by such philosophies. Why? Because we are standing on the very edge of the grace period.
In fact, living under such falsehoods will cause you to walk headfirst into a fate similar to that of the victims of the Jonestown massacre. “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)
The scriptures says that all have sinned and fallen short. The scripture also says that it is not the will of God for any to perish; therefore, any who repent and forsake their sin shall find hope, life, and rescue from the curse of death and Hell.
The Lord has not left any of His expectations of us a mystery. His message to us is not new. It is the same message that John the Baptist and every prophet before him once spoke: “Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:2)
1. You must confess with your mouth and believe with your heart that Jesus was born of a virgin; crucified dead and buried; that He rose from the dead after 3 days; He ascended to heaven where He sits on the right hand of God His father.
2. You must confess ALL your sins and then forsake them. The scripture says only those who do the Fathers will shall inherit the kingdom of heaven. The act of confession isn’t simply lip service but it’s a complete transformation of your entire person.
3. Lastly, you must pick up your cross and follow Jesus. That means drop everything because if you are holding onto anything, you will not be able to carry the cross. The cross is huge and the burden is great; therefore, the cross will be the only thing you have room to carry.
Now I can imagine that picking up a cross and following Jesus may not sound like the most appealing proposition. Yet many do it. Why? Because what you are being asked to give up holds absolutely no value. When you pick up the cross, you are actually picking up a crown; you are picking up glory. “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”(I Corinthians 15:51-54)
It’s a win win really. You are pardoned from the curse of sin. As you enter into eternity you will be transformed into an incorruptible glorified body. Temporary strife in exchange for an incorruptible immortal glorified body. Immortality in a place where there’s no pain, suffering or war…a place where there are no predators nor prey…a place where we won’t be fighting over land…a place where we won’t be aliens. Instead we will enter a country where we are warmly welcomed…a place where we belong. it’s a no brainer for me. Try Jesus 😊.
